Council Tax Reduction form help

Council Tax Reduction (sometimes called Council Tax Support) can cut your bill by up to 100% if you're on a low income or claim benefits. The application asks about your whole household — we translate it and fill it in.

Council Tax Reduction is a discount on your Council Tax bill, applied for through your local council. Each council runs its own scheme, and what you get depends on your income, savings, household and circumstances.

You can apply if you own your home, rent, are unemployed or working. The application asks detailed questions about your income, savings, pensions, your partner's income, children and other adults in the home.

What the CTR claim involves

Official process: GOV.UK: Apply for Council Tax Reduction.

How a Council Tax Reduction application works

  1. Find your council's form: Enter your postcode on GOV.UK to find your council's application — or send us a photo or PDF of the form you were given.
  2. We translate the questions: We go through every question in Urdu, Punjabi, Polish, Romanian or English: income, savings, pensions, benefits, children, other adults.
  3. You answer in your own words: You tell us your answers — by voice, text or video call. We handle the English.
  4. We complete the form: We fill in the official application form and list any documents you need to attach (payslips, benefit letters, bank statements).
  5. You review and submit: You check, sign and submit to your council — by post or online, whichever they accept.
